Porto. <strong>As investigadoras desenvolveram, respetivamente, uma tecnologia GPS aplicada \u00e0 neurocirurgia e uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o que prop\u00f5e a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um sistema, uma rede neuronal, capaz de detetar cancro atrav\u00e9s de imagens.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row unlock_row_content=&#8221;yes&#8221; row_height_percent=&#8221;0&#8243; overlay_alpha=&#8221;50&#8243; gutter_size=&#8221;3&#8243; column_width_percent=&#8221;100&#8243; shift_y=&#8221;0&#8243; z_index=&#8221;0&#8243; el_class=&#8221;margin-top-30&#8243;][vc_column width=&#8221;5\/12&#8243;][vc_single_image media=&#8221;5671&#8243; media_width_percent=&#8221;100&#8243; bottom-t-top&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;7\/12&#8243;][vc_column_text alpha-anim&#8221;]Na categoria <em>Doutoramento<\/em>, In\u00eas Machado conquistou o primeiro lugar um sistema similar ao sistema GPS, aplicado \u00e0 neurocirurgia. <em>Sneaking into the brain with a new GPS-like technology<\/em> \u00e9 uma tecnologia j\u00e1 validada por neurocirurgi\u00f5es,\u00a0radiologistas e engenheiros do MIT e Harvard Medical School. A tecnologia apresentada leva a uma remo\u00e7\u00e3o mais completa de patologias e ajuda a evitar danos importantes \u00e0s estruturas neurais, o que resulta numa diminui\u00e7\u00e3o na morbidade e mortalidade do paciente, diminui\u00e7\u00e3o do custo de sa\u00fade e uma melhoria na preserva\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00e1xima das fun\u00e7\u00f5es neurocognitivas do paciente.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text alpha-anim&#8221;]\r\n<div class=\"uncode_text_column alpha-anim animate_when_almost_visible start_animation\">\r\n\r\nJ\u00e1 na categoria <em>Mestrado<\/em>, a grande vencedora foi Isabel Oliveira, investigadora da Faculdade de Engenharia da U. Porto. <em>Understanding the decisions of CNNs: An in-model approach<\/em> prop\u00f5e a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um sistema \u2014 uma rede neuronal \u2014 capaz de detetar cancro atrav\u00e9s de imagens. O trabalho apostou no desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta capaz de produzir explica\u00e7\u00f5es visuais para as decis\u00f5es do classificador, salientando as regi\u00f5es mais afetadas e permitindo, desta forma, assegurar e melhorar o processo de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o humana dos resultados dos algoritmos.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=&#8221;2&#8243;][vc_column_text alpha-anim&#8221;]\r\n<div class=\"uncode_text_column alpha-anim animate_when_almost_visible start_animation\">\r\n\r\nO p\u00f3dio, na categoria <em>Doutoramento<\/em>, fica completo com o segundo lugar de Renato Panda (Universidade de Coimbra) e o terceiro lugar de Daniel Dinis (Universidade de Aveiro). Pedro Dias (Faculdade de Engenharia da U. Porto) e Bruno Degardin (Universidade da Beira Interior) arrecadaram o segundo e terceiro pr\u00e9mio, respetivamente, na categoria <em>Mestrado<\/em>. Os vencedores do concurso foram escolhidos por um j\u00fari de especialistas na \u00e1rea das tecnologias, num evento que este ano, excecionalmente, decorreu remotamente.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=&#8221;2&#8243;][vc_column_text alpha-anim&#8221;]\r\n<div class=\"uncode_text_column alpha-anim animate_when_almost_visible start_animation\">\r\n\r\nOrganizado desde 2010, o Fraunhofer Portugal Challenge procura encorajar a coopera\u00e7\u00e3o entre a ind\u00fastria e a comunidade cient\u00edfica. \u00a0O concurso envolve duas categorias, Mestrado e Doutoramento, sendo premiados tr\u00eas finalistas em cada uma delas (seis no total).
